Service and Education

DCAD staffs an ambulance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The ambulance is based out of our ambulance station located at 222 S Guyrene Street in Dove Creek. We have two ambulances that are staffed with BLS and ALS Certified Emergency Medical Responders, meaning we have, at a minimum, one EMT and EMR on every ambulance thus providing an above standard level of emergency care possible to our community and surrounding area. In addition to our 24-hour ambulance we have a 2nd crew available within 30 minutes of the station in the event of an emergency.

Our emergency medical services and education teams offer over 60 combined years of in-hospital and pre-hospital experience. We partner with quality organizations like the National Registry, American Heart Association, American Safety & Health Institute, Colorado Community College System which includes Pueblo Community College to offer excellent educational opportunities to help meet the needs of our employees and community.

DCAD directly support the Dolores County Search & Rescue Team as well as the Emergency Manager. The EMS and SARS teams that train together, provide the most efficient, practiced, and coordinated response to any multi-agency emergent event. Providing and Receiving Mutual Aid from surrounding agencies provides optimum coverage during emergencies.
